Don Taylor, 75, of Champaign passed away on Friday, November 30th at OSF Heart of Mary Medical Center, Urbana.

Don Taylor, 75, of Champaign passed away on Friday, November 30th at OSF Heart of Mary Medical Center, Urbana.
Visitation will be from 3 to 5pm Sunday, Dec 2nd at Morgan Memorial Home, Savoy. Funeral services will be at 10:30 Monday, Dec 3rd at Faith United Methodist Church, 1719 S Prospect, Champaign with Pastor Cory Blackwell officiating. Burial will be at Macon Cemetery, Macon, IL at 2 p.m.
Surviving are his wife, Jeanette; son Brad; daughter Natalie (Johnny) Fisher; three grandchildren – Kiara (Ray) Lawson, Kaitlyn and Kolton Taylor as well as great grandsons – Elliott and Zander. He was preceded in death by his parents and eight brothers & sisters.
Don was born in Bumpus Mills, TN the son of “Chill” and Dora Taylor, the 8th of 9 children. He joined his brother and sister in Illinois shortly after graduating high school where he met and married Jeanette Widick on February 16, 1964 in Macon, IL. He spent his life in the food business working at JM Jones for 25 years then opening his own food brokerage in 1987. A very charismatic person that never knew a stranger, Don became well known in the industry making friends of all customers and clients.
Jeanette and family thanks OSF 8th floor and Transitions Hospice for their care during his last days. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in the family’s name to the Alzheimer’s Association.
