Morris L. Davis 89, of Champaign passed away on Sunday March 8, 2015 at 1:15 A.M. He was born on April 1, 1925 in Mansfield to Richard E. and Edna Vandervordt Davis. He married Ruby Zinders on October 13, 1946 and she survives.
Also surviving is one son- Richard (Khaliah) Davis of Plainfield, three daughters- Cindy Davis of Savoy, Pam (Steve) Wood also of Savoy, and Lynn (Dan) Doolin of Champaign. He is also survived by 10- grandchildren and 10-great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one sister.
Morris moved to Champaign from Mansfield in 1941 and was employed at Murphy’s in Champaign from 1946 to 1952 and then went to Service Buick for 28 years retiring in 1980 where he was in car sales and served as sales manager. He enjoyed University of Illinois sports, playing cards with his friends and spending time with his family.
He was a U.S. Army veteran and was a life member of the Champaign- Urbana Elks lodge #2947. He was also a member of the Disabled American Veterans.
Visitation for Morris will be held on Wednesday March 11, 2015 from 5:00- to- 7:00 P.M. at the Morgan Memorial Home 1304 Regency Drive West, Savoy. Funeral Services will also take place at the Morgan Memorial Home on Thursday March 12, 2015 at 1:00 P.M. Interment will take place at the Monticello Cemetery, Monticello.
Memorials may be directed to a charity of the donor’s choice.
